Current Event Help
Current Events
Presentations:
Twice a semester you are to give a Current Events PowerPoint to the class with a group of usually around 5 people. The presentation schedule is posted in class and on my teacher website. You will need to find time to work collaboratively with your group. Late presentations will not be accepted. Your PowerPoint should include the title of the topic and appropriate visuals only. Visuals should contain a map or graph and relevant picture, and no text except for a caption and your source which should be properly formatted. Your presentation is to be no longer than 15 minutes. An in depth look at the article will include a summary of the issue, the mention of data that supports the issue, what effect the data has on laws, people, environment, or future plans. Finally, if there are topics discussed in the article discussed in class, mention them. Turn in your annotated article before you present. You may have a note card during your presentation. Having a Google docs account will enable you to post your power point slide up so one person can compile the slides. Consider putting a map showing where the incident occurred. You may then present from one person’s Google docs account. Please look for articles covering each of the following categories (choose the most important events for your week for each category --- be thorough and do your best).
