  • Current Event: Spectacular Conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon. Go outside tonight just after dark and look to the western sky to see something very cool! I will have a telescope set up on the bridge between 5 and 6 PM this evening if you want to come by and have a look.
  • We are starting a unit on the Earth’s layers, interior heat, igneous rocks, and volcanoes. This unit will cover sections 4.1, 6.1, 6.2, and all of chapter 9.

You should include all of their physical/chemical properties, where they are found, and what they are used for. Take digital pictures of each mineral at the museum and put into your report. Your report can be done in either MS Word or PowerPoint. You must save your receipt as proof that you went to the museum. 20 points of classwork extra credit possible if you do a really good job! You must have an MLA works cited if you use an outside source other than the notes you take at the museum. The last day to turn in this extra credit will be Tuesday, December 2, 2008.

  • Get class guidelines signed
  • Finish Internet Investigation ES0103 and ES0108 from last Friday. It will be graded as classwork.
