Describe its appearance. 2) Make a list of each ingredient, its chemical makeup, and why the ingredient is important. Ex) Ingredient = Karo Corn Syrup, Chemical Makeup = C12H22O11, Why it’s important = Karo syrup represents organic molecules. These molecules could be the origins of amino acids, proteins, and hence life on Earth from comet bombardment. 3) Write a summary expressing what comets are, how old they are, why they are important in the solar system, and where you would find them in the solar system. The Comet vs. Asteroid Fact Sheet and All About Comets site will be very helpful for this homework.
