credit! Do a report on 5 minerals that you saw. You should include all
of their physical/chemical properties, where they are found, and what
they are used for. Take digital pictures of each mineral at the museum
and put into your report. A picture of you in one of the pictures is
required as proof that you went. Your report can be done in either MS
Word or PowerPoint. You must save your receipt as proof that you went to
the museum. 20 points of classwork extra credit possible if you do a
really good job! You must have an MLA works cited if
you use an outside source other than the notes you take at the museum.
The last day to turn in this extra credit will be Tuesday, January 8,
2013. You may also add to
your extra credit by
reporting on the new Dinosaur Hall at
the Natural History
Museum! Do the same thing as with the minerals.
Report on 5 dinosaur specimens that you view. Tell me things about the species

Solstice at 3:12 AM local time. The Sun is now directly over the Tropic
of Capricorn at 23.5 ° south latitude, day length is the shortest in La
Cañada at 9 hours and 54 minutes, the sun’s angle above the horizon at
noon is only 32.5°, and it is the first day of winter here in the
northern hemisphere. It is the first day of summer in the southern
hemisphere. We now celebrate the return of light to the northern
hemisphere! Check out this seasons
animation to see what is going on with regard to the astronomy of
this event!
